Elite Collection of Natural Fancy Color Diamonds to be Showcased in Green Diamonds: Natural Radiance, Opening December 9 at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES – DECEMBER 4, 2017 – Visitors to the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles (NHMLA) will have a rare opportunity to see some of the world’s most coveted natural fancy color diamonds at Green Diamonds: Natural Radiance, opening on December 9, 2017. New York-based Optimum Diamonds LLC, one of the world's elite houses for rare and exotic natural fancy color diamonds, will have on display a portion of its comprehensive collection of natural green diamonds for this exhibit.

Optimum Diamonds focuses on bringing to life the highest quality natural fancy color diamonds ever discovered. The extensive collection of Optimum Diamonds includes some of the rarest colors on nature's palette including red, blue, green, orange, and Argyle pink diamonds. Most significantly, the company has amassed the largest collection of rare natural green diamonds in the world.

David Shara, owner of Optimum Diamonds, has been trading in these color gems since 1999. His passion for acquiring the world’s rarest diamonds is evident in his pursuit of green diamonds, a precious stone largely unknown by the masses.

“Like the works of the great masters, the supply of these diamonds is finite, and the investors, collectors and jewelers that pursue them do so with incredible intensity,” said Shara. “I’m very pleased to be able to share my passion for these rare gems and the result of nearly 15 years of chasing these stones. They are something that most people rarely have the opportunity to see.”

The company will also exhibit two very rare diamonds won by Optimum Diamonds at the 2017 Argyle Pink Diamonds Tender, The Argyle Everglow™, a 2.11 carat polished radiant cut Fancy Red diamond, and the Argyle Liberté™, a 0.91 carat radiant shaped Fancy Deep Gray-Violet diamond.

“It is extremely gratifying that Optimum Diamonds is making two historic Argyle diamonds available for public display at the highly respectable Natural History Museum of Los Angeles,” said Josephine Johnson, director of marketing for Rio Tinto Diamonds. “Both are unprecedented testaments to the unique Argyle ore-body that continues to produce the world’s rarest pink, red and violet diamonds.”

Green Diamonds: Natural Radiance runs December 9, 2017 – April 1, 2018. The museum, located at 900 Exposition Boulevard in Los Angeles, is open 9:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. daily (closed Christmas Day and New Year’s Day). For more information, visit the NHMLA website or call (213) 763-3466.
